Emission Calculator - Passenger
Emission Calculator - Cargo
  General information
This is a tool to estimate your share of aircraft emissions and to buy Carbon offsets when you travel or send cargo with SAS. The data in this calculator is updated to reflect aircraft fleet and schedules flown year 2009.

User guide
Select Language by pressing the upper right flags below the top banner.

Select Calculator Version from the top tabs.
a) Simplified Passenger Calculator - for CO2 only,
b) Passenger – all passenger emissions with aircraft type selection,
c) Cargo – all cargo emissions with aircraft type or truck selection.

Enter the flight itinerary as flown, including all stops. For each time the Calculate button is pushed, the displayed segment will be added to the list of results.

For each segment do the following:
a) Enter Origin and Destination. You can enter Airport code or name, or use the help to find city or airport link. Please note that the airport database is in English language, without Scandinavian letters like ø, æ å, ö, ä. For reasons of flexibility, more routes than actually operated by SAS are available.
b) Enter number of single trips (passenger calculator) or kg (Cargo calculator)
c) Select Aircraft type (passenger and cargo calculator only) - if the route is operated by SAS, the most used aircraft type on the route will be shown on top in the list with 'most used' in front of the type description.
d) Press the Calculate button to add the trip or segment to the list of results.

Buy CO2 offsets - SAS have selected the Carbon Neutral Company as partner for Carbon offsets. When you have calculated your flights, push the Buy CO2 offset button, and you will be linked to their homepage with your CO2 results.
